Crazy golf at Ghetto Golf Newcastle

Tunnel of Love, Ghetto Golf

Disclaimer: I was invited to attend a complementary launch night but not obliged to write about it.

I’ve wanted to visit Ghetto Golf in Liverpool forever, but the last time I was there we didn’t have time to squeeze it in. When I saw Newcastle was getting one I was dying for it to open so I could go. I know Newcastle already has a ‘crazy’ golf course in the centre, but this one is definitely more up my street. I love anything quirky and this is right up there with quirky and definitely my humour.

Each hole has the funniest themes, or albeit creepy. The course definitely isn’t for the faint hearted as it’s very tongue in cheek humour, but the holes are hilarious. There is even a Get Him to the Greek themed hole, and what is better than that?

The place is decorated amazingly throughout, and perfect for them funny photo opportunities. We had such a laugh taking the photos and sitting on all the props!

FYI: The Jeremy Kyle hole streams live to the bar area, we took turns to run down and get some classics off the big screen. Absolutely hilariously worth it!

What is Ghetto Golf?

Ghetto Golf is an adults only 18 hole crazy golf course. The place is decorated amazingly from when you walk through the door, it’s bright, colourful and full of very tongue in cheek or naughty themed courses. The warehouse is covered in grafitti all the way up the ceiling and has hilarious decorations everywhere.

What else is there?

As well as the golf course, there is a cocktail bar (you need to try the Nothin but a G ting), and a restaurant called the Apocolypse Cow. You get bar service around the course, or can just sit and have a drink in the booths. Apocolypse Cow do food from tapas, nachos, burgers, loaded fries and what sound like the best desserts ever. I’d even go back solely to grab more food next time as there’s still a few different meals I’d like to try (I see you churros).

How much is it?

The 18 hole course is £10 per person, or is there is groups of you there is packages which you can book too. I’m already debating this for my birthday next year.

The food and drinks aren’t expensive either, the cocktails range between £6-7 and the food is under £10, unless you buy it all. We did get loaded fries and a burger though, but it was so so worth it.

Ghetto Golf

Where is it located?

Although it isn’t in the centre of town, it’s about a 5-10 minute taxi from there. It’s located in Hoults Yard near Byker. It’s easy enough to get to with an uber or taxi, or there is a nearby metro a 15 minute walk away.

This is one place I’m excited to go back to, especially with different friend groups who haven’t been yet! I’m already thinking about what food to grab next time I go too..

Would this be something you would want to go to?
