My Travel desinations so far
I’ve pretty much been abroad every year since a kid, minus a stint of being with the worlds most boring boyfriend. It’s something I love doing and love having booked to look forward to, pretty much the reason I go to work every day is so I can save up and go somewhere. Whether that be exotic, or just a generally easy place to get to, it doesn’t matter. Even a £27 return to Palma has me excited to go to work every day (who’s coming). I love looking back on my travel destinations so far!
Although I’ve been away quite a lot, I don’t think I have a very varied background of where I’ve been. Some I don’t even quite remember going. The last 2 years I’ve definitely made up with travelling after being stuck and not being able to go anywhere. As soon as I was single I booked a trip to Amsterdam alone, met my best friends and never looked back! Now I just want to keep booking them!
Bali, Indonesia
I’ve never been to Indonesia before Bali, nor Asia, but it has literally changed my perception on where to go. It was the most exotic place I’ve ever been to but also the most adventure I’ve had on a trip before. We had so much planned to do there and there was so much choice. It’s really spurred me on to try more places! It definitely made me want to start to travel more!
Turkey
I’ve only visited Side in Antalya so far, but I was so dubious about Turkey until I went. I only really went on a whim on the first trip, I wasn’t really sure, but was open-minded to try it. I absolutely loved it, so much so that I went back a second time that same year. The locals are so friendly, the country is beautiful and I need to go explore more. Cappadocia and Istanbul are definitely high on my must visit list.
Spain
Spain is obviously a common one for most, but it’s so easy to get to and has so much to offer. Whether you opt for a party holiday in Magaluf or cultural in Altea, there is so much to see. The food is amazing, the sangria is lovely, and there is sunshine. What more do you need?
Canary Islands
I love the Canary Islands, I’ve been to Tenerife heaps of times, and I’m well overdue another trip. The Canary Islands are always a great place to go to out of season, it’s pretty warm all year round, the islands are beautiful and each has their own characteristics.
Iceland
Iceland was a really surreal place, a bit like Bali. The climate was something I haven’t really travelled to before, but it was such a good change. Albeit freezing. It was such a amazing country, the people had fascinating stories, and there was so much to go see. I still feel like I missed out so much, and I would love to go back and see all the black sand beaches. It’s a expensive country, but was worth every penny!
Canada
This place holds a huge place in my heart, it was where my Auntie lived since the 80s and I absolutely loved visiting her. I haven’t been for nearly 15 years, and I’m desperate to go back to Toronto one day. As I was so young when I was there, there is so much I don’t remember, so would love to experience it all again.
Greece
So many places I still need to see here, but the buildings in Greece are so beautiful. Crete was so picturesque and had so much landscape to see. There is so many islands I still haven’t been too though, my parents only started going after I was too old to be invited. So still plenty of trips I need to go on!
New York
I feel like I didn’t fully appreciate New York when I went so I would love to go back. It’s full of hustle and bustle and there is SO much to do. Even being there 5 days I feel like I missed so much out. I would love to go back and just enjoy it, rather than rushing between tourist attractions.
Poland
I need to go back to Poland for some Christmas markets this year, the flights are too cheap to not go! Me and Kirsty had such a nice time exploring here. It was my first time in Poland, and a very different culture to learn. It has so much history and beautiful buildings to explore though, Krakow next?
France
When I went to France I went skiing, could I ski now.. probably not. I’d love to give it a go again though, I wasn’t terrible, but I do think as you get older you get a bit more nervous! I also visited Disneyland, but still not Paris. I’d love to see Paris itself and visit all the museums, and maybe visit Lyon!
The Netherlands
Who doesn’t love Amsterdam? I would go back tomorrow if someone handed me a cheap flight. I’ve enjoyed every trip here, and the locals are just the nicest people you can meet. I’d probably live here in a heartbeat. Now I need to see the tulip fields and the windmills one day!
There is so many amazing places to see and experience, I keep seeing people jet off to such unusual places recently and it’s really inspired me in travel. There is so much of the world to see, but I think I need an unlimited bank account?
