Investing in a Eve Sleep mattress
I’ve needed a new mattress for god knows how long, but the thought of having to sell my kidney to buy it put me off for ages. But I eventually decided I had to bite the bullet and choose one. I looked on soo many websites but just couldn’t decide on one, or even afford some of them. I mean, who shells out £1.5k on a mattress, is it encrusted with gold sewing? It’s definitely a no from me.
I eventually decided on an Eve Sleep Mattress. I’ve seen adverts for them everywhere, and well I pretty much got attracted to the yellow. Yes, the yellow that no one will see underneath my bed covers but hey ho.
My previous mattress was a memory foam mattress from Silent Night. I think I’ve had it around 7 years. I have no idea how long you’re meant to keep them for, but mine was starting to feel super uncomfortable. I’m really trying to work on my sleep lately and that mattress wasn’t helping.
I’ve been working on myself for a while, and getting a good nights sleep is so important for your health, mental health and just general well being. If I don’t get a good nights sleep, which for me is probably just over 6 hours, which isn’t great but sometimes I get less than that. I don’t recover from the gym properly without a good sleep, and I also don’t have the energy to go back the next evening either. So it does affect my endorphins for the day if I don’t make it!
How am I finding it?
Having had the Eve Sleep mattress for a week or so now, I’m in love. I actually can’t wait for a Sunday lie now! Sunday is pretty much the only day I get a lie in too, so I’m especially making the most of it this week. The mattress is a lot deeper than my last one, but it makes a huge difference. Feels like climbing Everest to get on my bed, but it’s so much more supportive.
My last memory foam was also super warm, and someone who hates warm beds it wasn’t good. I love a cool bed and this mattress doesn’t retain loads of heat like my last, so in the summer it won’t be unbearable thank god!
The one downside..
One downside of it, is my fitted bed sheet barely covers it! Do I now need to invest in deeper bed sheets, do they even exist? It was a wrestling match trying to get that sheet on my bed, will someone come put my new bedding on tomorrow??
Worth it?
All in all though, the Eve mattress is so worth it’s money. Obviously it isn’t a cheap mattress but if you can, it’s worth spending it as it will have better longevity than cheaper mattresses. Alternatively, every now and then you can catch Eve mattresses on Wowcher. They’re not brand new, but they’ve been recovered completely and hygienically, if the full price is a little out your budget.
