Chaophraya Thai Restaurant in Newcastle

Anyone else making the most of going out for food? I’m literally saying yes to any food opportunity after missing so much. I feel like the last few wild years of my twenties were stolen. No trips to Thailand or Bali. Instead only walking around B&M so something to do. So when one of the girls said let’s go to Chaophraya in Newcastle I was all for it. Reminiscing of Thailand all over again.
Chaophraya is always a restaurant I love going back to. It gives such an authentic experience and I’ve never had a bad food experience there. My only issue is I nearly always order the same thing. Their dragon fruit stir fry is just another level!
What’s on their menu

The menu there isn’t huge but has a good variation. Whether it’s a good curry, stir fry or even sharing platters. Plus they have some amazing starters! But again I nearly always get the dumplings. Can’t help myself! my friend got their satay skewers which I was a little jealous of!

The dragonfruit stir fry is just so unusual but amazing. I’ve never been to a Thai restaurant around here that sells anything like it. Their Pad Thai is also one of my favourite dishes. Cliche but don’t think you can beat it!
Pudding wise they have some beautiful puddings. Even pudding cocktails, which you need ASAP. I’m nearly always too full to get one! Never too full for the cocktail however.
Newcastle has so so many good restaurants popping up lately. It’s hard to choose between a newbie and one of your favourite haunts. After so long of going nowhere I feel myself gravitating to my old favourites. Need to get out and try some more places now we’re free again!
Is there anywhere you’re desperate to try out?
