Hourglass Ambient Lighting

This was the product I read the most about during 2014, everyone either seemed to want it or had just got it (and then there was me with neither!). I must admit before the surge of this product I didn’t know who/what Hourglass were, and I hadn’t tried any of their products. But the craze of this product made me want it, but the price tag is slightly off putting! Which is why it’s taken me so long to persuade myself to get it!

The Ambient Lighting palette retails for £56, so it isn’t on the cheap scale for beauty products. But if you like the contouring look to your make up it is a worthy purchase!

I use Dim Light to brush all over my face, which seems to blur out all my imperfections (scarring and spots). It doesn’t blue things out so much that you don’t need concealer though, I set my concealer using this powder. I then use Incandescent Light to highlight areas e.g. cheekbones and brow bone. It has a similar colour payoff to Mac Lightscapade which has a white/gold sheen too. And last of all, I use Radiant Light to bronze under my cheekbones for a contouring effect and under my jawline. The Radiant light colour is a really bronze shade, so a little goes a long with my skin as pale as mine.

I have really enjoyed using this, though it is not my every day product (as I don’t want to fork out for it alot). But it is nice to use it every now and then, and I do love the look it gives at the end. Though it is a little heavy on your skin for every day use!

Hourglass have now also released a new eyeshadow palette, which looks absolutely amazing! It comes in 7 shades which all look slightly like a pot of ice cream. I’m dying to get the Olive palette as I’m loving all the khaki shades at the moment and it is just perfect. I mean look how beautiful they are…
