Weirdest name for a product ever, no idea what it means but I know it’s a moisturiser.. and a good one at that. For maybe a year or so I’ve used Benefits Triple Performing moisturiser but I decided it was time for a change and I grabbed this instead with my Boots points. I’ve loved Bioderma ever since trying their Micellar water donkeys ago but I rarely pick their stuff up, it creeped into my basket after looking on Boots for the best ‘problem skin’ moisturiser. This really has made a hell of a lot of difference to my skin, my blemishes are so far between now and all my red marks are disappearing. This moisturiser soaks in so quickly so it really is perfect for using before your foundation and primers, I hate having to wait donkeys for a moisturiser to disappear. If you’re like me and have blemish prone skin, buy this!
Nivea Post Shave Balm
Yes I know everyone has raved about this, but rightly so, it’s amazing. I don’t usually end up loving cult products. But I jumped on this a few months after putting it off thinking it was just a phase and I wish I had just bought it sooner. Apparently it is the glycerine content that makes this ‘stick’, which means nothing to me really but I do know now to always look for that ingredient in a primer. This is a strange gel/liquid consistency when you apply, which you then rub in until it’s absorbed. It leaves a strange sheen to your skin which I can only describe as PVA glue.. in a good way though! If you do have large pores this won’t cover them straight away, so I would recommend maybe using Benefit Porefessional for a little while as this will reduce your pore size after a week or so too. What more do you want from a primer?
La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur
I received this back in February from Escentual and I’ve loved it ever since. It blurs out all your imperfections and creates a smooth flawless base. The texture of this reminds me of Dream Matte Mousse strangely (but better obviously), I dot this all over my face and blend with my Real Techniques Expert Face brush. It doesn’t work too well with a beauty blender which was a first for me, but it glides on perfectly with a brush anyhow. I did review the BB Blur a while ago, so if you are interested I’ve went into more detail in the review!
All three of these together work perfectly for a hot day, they’re all so lightweight on your skin. The BB Blur also has an SPF of 20, so there is some sun protection included too, which you definitely need to avoid any wrinkles! Or sunburn, like I always get on my face!
