Hourglass now do eyeshadow!
I have had a little weakness for Hourglass products ever since the Ambient Lighting palette (review) came out last year, and although they are on the pricey side they’re just too nice to not have. The packaging itself just stands out and looks so expensive and luxe! So when I saw the Hourglass had released an eyeshadow palette I didn’t even think twice about grabbing one. I very rarely buy anything so pricey so I did surprise myself getting it.
Left to Right – Warm ivory, Champagne gold, Taupe brown, Golden olive and Forest green.
I chose the palette Colour Field – Olive which was £56 at Spake.NK (it also seems to have disappeared off their website now). I am loving khaki colours at the moment so this was a no brainer as soon as it caught my eye, I did do a little research first to see the swatches but still gravitated back to this shade. I was thinking up different looks to create with the golden olive shade and forest green shade.
I use the warm ivory shade to highlight in the arch of my brow and the inner corners, it has a lovely brightening look to it and not too much shimmer. I then use either champagne gold or golden olive to cover my lids depending on what look I’m going for. To shade the corners I use either the taupe brown or the forest green, they create such a nice smoke to my eyes which finishes it up quite well.
These eyeshadows have quite a lot of fall out so it is best to tap off the excess before starting to apply, unless you want glitter all over your face! Each colour is beautifully pigmented and really creamy, a little of each colour goes a long way. You can also apply the colours with a damp eyeshadow brush for a even more dramatic colour effect, I personally like using the damp shadow on the lid and fade outwards.

All together there is 7 shades available in the Hourglass Modernist palette, they range from neutral colours to darker more smokey colours like the palette above. If they weren’t so expensive I would love to try another shade available but I think I should wait a few months before going all out on one again!

It was so hard to try and get a swatch of the Warm Ivory shade as it just blends into my milk bottle skin!
